Update: crashes upon opening. Completely unusable at this time. ------- Previous review: It did some weird stuff when I tried to make a new goal. Probably best for maintaining ongoing goals at this time, but its great to have something besides a web page bookmark on my home screen to use. Thanks, Beeminder!

I use Beeminder daily on my laptop, but this app crashes every time I open itinerary my 4S, so its unusable. Will update rating if this gets fixed. Set a goal and just do it, Beeminder! ;-)

I normally dont write reviews, but felt compelled in this instance because the app does not contain a review prompt, which lead me to believe that this apps reviews would be unduly influenced by selection bias (whereby the small percentage of users who encounter problems leave negative reviews, while the large percentage of users for whom the app works perfectly never think to leave positive reviews). This app has always worked exactly as intended on my device. It has made the entire beeminder system easier to use and more effective. It is one of the three most-accessed apps on my phone.

When the dentist asks me how often I floss, I say 3 or 4 times a week. I now know from other goal tracking apps (Lift) that this is a lie. But I still couldnt bring myself to do it regularly until I started using Beeminder. If I go back into my old habits, Ill owe Beeminder a small fortune. Motivating! I use the website to create new goals, but the app helps me stay up to date on the go (I can update right after flossing before I forget).

Beeminder is ONE of the best systems for setting measurable goals and staying on track - every day!

I feel sorry for the developers because theyre obviously working very hard at something that needs a serious redesign from the foundation up. There is no cohesiveness in this app. Youve got umpteen unassociated words that they like to use repeatedly -- the stepper, the dial, the yellow brick road, bees, akrasia (especially "akrasia," which makes my jaw clench every time they vomit that all over their blog and descriptions). They didnt plan this whole thing very well, and now what are they going to do to pull it out of the mess it is? It would take admitting that what they have isnt working and then finding a new developer ( or developers) who is not one of the dynamic duo who is obviously not up to the task. I find this so frustrating because its a good concept thats gone wrong by too many stupid decisions and an overall jump to create before having a good plan. The app is buggy as heck. Right now I cant even make a goal within the app. "Go make them on a desktop and then just update within the app," you say, and I repeat that a competent developer wouldnt require this. Also, Im worn thin by how much they pat themselves on the back in their blog and elsewhere as they wax on ad nauseum about exponents and such. They dont get that we the general public couldnt care less about all of that, and furthermore, its just annoying. Just redesign everything into something that is intuitive without the stupid disconnected jargon. I have tried repeatedly to like--or even tolerate--this app, and Im deleting once more. They just dont get it. My original review: The concept gets 5 stars, but the app needs a lot of work. Every time I open it, it gives errors regarding loading goals. When I create a new goal from within the app, it immediately derails. Also, there is a steeper-than-necessary learning curve with both the app and the web site. For example, its not immediately clear that you enter the date followed by a space and the quantity. Its not obvious that the input is automatically added to previous entries. Beeminder terms like "dial up" arent intuitive, either -- if Im wanting to decrease something a week+ into the future, "dial it in" seems like exactly what I wouldnt want to do. The app and site need to be much more intuitive. Suggestion is to have more beta testers that arent programmers, CS majors, statisticians and the like. Id love to give this 5 stars, but the constant error messages make me want to delete it and just use Beeminder from my desktop. Ill be happy to raise my rating if future versions are more user-friendly.

Helped me self motivate with regards to school and weight loss goals. Nice!

This has made Beeminder so much more useful. Its now much easier to get a status update and to enter data.

The app is now flawless. This is the one service I know of that has a high likelihood of changing the rest of your life for the better. There are no unnecessary features or fluff in the app. It lets you keep track of your commitments and progress. Thats it. And it does it well. Stay on the road!

For now, the app is good for looking at you current goal info (active goals and progress). Im using a 4s. For me, the app is too buggy for inputing data. Frequent crashes, eternal spinning wheel of "updating" causing the app to freeze. Im using Beeminder to increase my efficiency. Waiting around for the app to work defeats the purpose. Ill keep the app on my phone, but only use it to check my data. Ill continue to enter my data solely and directly into the website. Hopefully the issues with the app will be fixed in an update.

I repeat: Best. App. Ever.

Do you like money? I do, so Create a network, so that when someone doesnt follow through with their habit they lose money AND this money is given to someone who did follow through the habit or 1/2 of it. It sound counter intuitive, but it will make the popularity of the app drastically rise and so itll be way worth it. I mean, who isnt driven like a moth to app that gives even a bit of cash?

I love this app (and the website), as it provides me with accountability for my goals! If youre the kind of person who needs a large sum of money on the line to get out of bed earlier or stop shoving peanut butter in your face, then this is the perfect system for you :)

Cant get pass log in screen . Tried fb and google accounts and still nothing.

Great app, but the 7/4 update crashes the app so that it just hangs and doesnt load the graphs. Was a cool app, but is now non-functional.

Wont load goals after a single data point entered, have to sign out and in again to get goals to show up at all. Every. Time.

Im able to see all my goals and the interface is much easier to use. Thanks for the fast turnaround on the bug fix update. Well done.
